Campaign subscribers provides the means to look up, add, edit and delete email campaign subscribers. Select the 'campaign subscribers' link from the administration link list to access campaign subscribers. Users must be administrators or campaign managers to have access to this area.

A subscriber in the system has not necessarily completed the subscription process. Once a web site visitor has submitted their email address, they exist in the subscriber database, even if they have not completed the double opt in process or they have elected to unsubscribe. Note that the default email campaign datasource will only send emails to subscribers that have completed the subscription process and not unsubscribed. Subscribers can exist in one of the following states:

  • Subscribed: The subscriber has completed the subscription process (double opted in, if the system is set as double opt in) and will receive email campaigns sent using the default campaign subscriber datasource.
  • Pending Subscribed: Subscribers that have registered on the website, but have not responded to the double opt in email. These email addresses will not receive email campaigns sent using the default campaign subscriber datasource.
  • Unsubscribed: Email addresses that have completed the unsubscription process (including the double opt out email response, if the system is set as double opt in). These email addresses will not receive email campaigns sent using the default campaign subscriber datasource.
  • Pending Unsubscribed: Email addresses that have requested to be removed from the system via the website, but have not responded to the unsubscribe verification email. If these emails have completed the subscription process beforehand, they will continue to receive email campaigns via the default campaign subscriber datasource until they complete the verification email instructions.

Campaign Subscribers Search Form

The campaign subscriber search form provides the means to look up existing subscribers or add a new subscriber. The subscriber search form provides the ability to filter subscribers by email address, subscription status and date subscribed. Selecting the "search" button will return all subscribers that fit the search criteria. Sort the returned subscribers by clicking the column headers. Manage the subscribers (edit, delete) by selecting the edit link in the right column of a subscriber.

Campaign Subscriber Management Form

Adding a Campaign Subscriber

To create a new subscriber, select the 'add a new subscriber' button in the campaign subscriber search form. You will be presented with an empty subscriber management form. See the above campaign subscriber management form section for details on how to use the form.

Editing a Campaign Subscriber

To edit a subscriber, select the 'edit' link in the right column in the row of the desired subscriber. You will be presented with the subscriber management form filled in with the information on the selected subscriber. See the above campaign subscriber management form section for details on how to use the form.

Deleting a Campaign Subscriber

To edit a subscriber, select the 'edit' link in the right column in the row of the desired subscriber. You will be presented with the subscriber management form filled in with the information on the selected subscriber. Select the 'delete' button on the bottom of the form to delete the subscriber. A confirmation message will pop up verifying you wish to delete the subscriber - confirm the deletion.

Exporting Subscribers

The system offers the means to export subscribers to an excel spreedsheet. The same campaign subscriber search form is used to perform this. Enter your search criteria and select the 'export to excel' button. Instead of the web page loading with the results, you will be prompted to download the results. Confirm you want to download the result. When Excel opens to display the results you may be presented with a security warning - select to continue.
