Field availability is controlled via three means: settings management, standard field controls in template management and custom fields in template management. Settings management, under the ‘Page Fields’ provides the ability to activate or deactivate the following fields, which then become visible or hidden on ALL pages using ANY template:

  • Publisher information (publisher, publish date, author)
  • Breadcrumb
  • Page notice
  • Sub title
  • Summary information link text
  • Summary information image caption

The following standard fields can be RENAMED using Page Fields in settings management, to support clients who have conform levels with certain terms used to describe the content:

  • Notice
  • Title
  • Subtitle
  • Meta Title

The following standard fields can be activated to deactivated in a PER TEMPLATE basis, meaning they are controlling the template and only effect pages using that template:

  • Summary (summary, summary image, summary image alt, summary image caption, link, link text)
  • Link (this field allows for freeform entry of any URL as the link that selecting this child forward the visitor to. This is useful for children that link to content outside the current web site)
  • Copy (the WYSIWYG control, which is not necessary when linking to content outside the web site)
  • Printable template (a separate template can be set in page management for how the page will render in a printable format. This is activated by using PAGE.printable as the link to call it)

Custom Fields can be added and managed at will in template management. Created custom fields will only be available for pages that are using that template. See below for additional custom field information.
